| Special Education/ABA - Leave Replacement | | City School District of New Rochelle Embracing Diversity: Driving Success The New Rochelle City School District is seeking Secondary Special Education Teachers for our 8:1:2/12:1:2 ABA/Life Skills program. Successful candidates must have NYS Teacher Certification and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include: - Delivery of Specially Designed instruction as aligned with district-wide Life Skills Curriculum.
- Application of the principles of ABA across all domains, including academic, communication, social and behavioral.
- Conducting individualized criterion-referenced inventories of behavior repertoires (assessments) for all students on an annual basis.
- Provide individualized instruction to all students with a minimum per student and measures, graphs, and analyzes all students’ progress on all IEP objectives daily.
- Analyzes student progress on a daily or moment to moment basis and working closely with Behavior Intervention Specialist to design phase and change and note objectives for each student.
- Work with Behavior Intervention Specialist on the development of curricula and behavior procedures to be followed in the class
- Carrying out and maintaining all instructional aspects of a student’s IEP.
- Completing progress reports and Annual Review reports for the IEP’s.
- Delivering classroom instructional programs and adjusting based on the needs of the students.
- Collaborate with peers and support staff.
- Attend all departmental meetings and trainings.
- Maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to instruction.

The ideal candidate will be committed to cultivating students’ Spanish language proficiency and fostering a deep appreciation for Spanish culture through standards-based instruction aligned with the New York State World Language Standards. Essential Functions Lesson Design & Instruction - Design, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with NYS World Language standards to develop Spanish language proficiency.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, visual aids, and hands-on activities to meet diverse learning needs.
- Implement a balanced program that promotes student inquiry, observation, and critical thinking.
Assessment & Feedback - Evaluate student performance regularly and accurately using formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to support student growth and achievement.
- Administer and support local and state testing procedures as required.
Technology Integration - Incorporate computers, audio-visual tools, and digital resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
Student Support - Provide individualized support and intervention strategies for students needing additional help.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages participation and risk-taking in language learning.
Collaboration & Communication - Work collaboratively with colleagues within the World Language Department and across disciplines to enhance curriculum and instructional practices.

Professional Duties - Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings, department planning, and professional learning opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
