The responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide academic instruction for English Language learners Differentiate curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of each student.
  • Use student performance data derived from teacher-created and standardized assessments to drive instructional decisions.
  • Design and implement high-quality individualized plans that effectively address student strengths and needs with clear learning goals and performance criteria.

This exciting opportunity involves delivering hands-on, industry-aligned instruction to students in Grades 7–8, fostering early exposure to career pathways and developing essential 21st-century skills.

Essential Functions

  • Design and deliver engaging, standards-based CTE instruction aligned to NYSED learning standards and industry expectations

  • Facilitate hands-on learning opportunities that reflect real-world workplace scenarios

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving

  • Integrate relevant technology tools to support learning, critical thinking, and career readiness

  • Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and implement strategies to support students’ growth

  • Collaborate with other educators to design cross-curricular projects and initiatives

  • Create and implement design challenges that allow students to develop solutions to real-world problems

  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and contribute to the overall goals of the school

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Valid New York State Certification in the relevant CTE career area for Gr. 7-8

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

  • Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and continuous professional growth

Middle School (6-8) Math Teacher - Probationary

The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a Middle School (6th Grade) Math Teacher position. Successful candidates should have NYS Certifications: Mathematics Certified 7-12 with grade 5-6 extension. They should be skilled at using math data to plan for instruction and interventions. A Reflective practitioner, that has an understanding of implementing Standards of Mathematical Practices for Next Gen Math Standards in the classroom. He/She has knowledge of current discussions in the development of math education.

 

The successful candidate must have:

 

  • Knows current discussions in the development of math education.
  • Believes that all students can achieve high levels in math with rigorous instruction and hard work.
  • Believes that educators work with families to support students’ learning.
