The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking highly qualified candidates for an anticipated elementary school Spanish position pending approval of the 2024-2025 School Budget. 

Qualifications:

  • NYS Certification in Spanish 7-12 with FLES Extension 1-6
  • Native or native-like fluency in Spanish

Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach multiple sections of FLES Spanish to heterogeneous student groups in grades K-5.
  • Plan, prepare and facilitate engaging, standards-aligned, student-centered lessons to develop students’ language skills in Spanish and build their enthusiasm for hispanophone cultures.
  • Assess students’ performance accurately and regularly while providing thoughtful, meaningful and actionable feedback for improvement, and communicating results to students, caregivers and colleagues in a timely manner.
  • Develop trusting, supportive relationships with students.
  • Teach and nurture the social-emotional learning of children.
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment for all students, encouraging student participation.
  • Maintain an open channel of consistent communication with caregivers and other school personnel.
  • Model the district’s values in all communications with students, families, and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with peers in the World Language Department.
  • Engage in professional learning sessions throughout the year.  

NYS Certification is required
