The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist pending approval of the 2024-2025 School Budget to administer evaluations and provide direct services to students with disabilities, including learning and intellectual disabilities, speech or language impairment, multiple disabilities, Autism, emotional disturbance, and pragmatic language disorders. May work in a collaborative classroom model as well as deliver pull-out services to students.  Experience as a bilingual/monoligual provider with valid NYS bilingual extension and/or experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) is preferred.   

A current, TSSLD issued certificate is required, as well as current and active NYS License. 

NYS Certification is required

School Psychologist - Bilingual Elementary

The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a highly qualified Bilingual Elementary School Psychologist pending approval of the 2024-2025 School Budget.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Pupil Services, the responsibilities of the School Psychologist include

  • Collaborate with educators, parents/guardians and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community for all students.
  • Administer a variety of assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, and social-emotional functioning.
  • Provide individual counseling to students facing challenges such as learning difficulties, behavioral issues, social struggles, or emotional distress. 
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions to address common issues experienced by students, such as anxiety, anger management, stress reduction, social skills development, or grief counseling.
  • Support students and staff on how to cope with trauma, facilitate crisis debriefings, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure the well-being of the school community.
  • Develop and implement programs to prevent and address issues such as bullying, substance abuse, self-harm, and mental health disorders.
  • Collect and analyze data related to students' academic progress, behavior patterns, and social-emotional functioning.
  • Maintain detailed records of assessments, counseling sessions, and interventions. Prepare reports, summarize findings, and make recommendations for students, parents, and relevant educational professionals.
  • Participate and chair Committee on Special Education meetings and Section 504 meetings.
  • Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by their supervisor.
  • Adhere to all applicable Federal and New York State Board of Education rules and regulations and The City School District of New Rochelle.
