The successful candidate must have NYS Special Education Teacher Certification, including kindergarten, and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Utilize principles of ABA including reinforcement systems, task analysis, prompting hierarchies, discrete trial instruction, and data collection.
  • Application of the principles of ABA across all domains, including academic, communication, social and behavioral.
  • Provide individualized instruction to all students and collect data analyzing student progress.
  • Work closely with Behavior Intervention Specialists to design and analyze behavioral and academic data note objectives for each student.
  • Carry out and maintain all instructional aspects of a student’s IEP.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate records including progress monitoring data, behavioral documentation, IEP progress reports, and communication logs.
  • Utilize assistive technology, visual supports, sensory supports, and augmentative communication systems as appropriate for student needs.
  • Collaborate with related service providers and consultants
  • Manage classroom staff including teaching assistant and classroom aide

The successful candidate must have appropriate NYS Special Education Teacher Certification for grades 6-8 and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Teaching Assistant Special Education ABA Program

The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a Teaching Assistant Special Education for our small class ABA program. The successful candidate must have NYS Teacher Assistant and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

 

The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks including:

  • Engage with colleagues during staff training and learning opportunities
  • Provide behavioral interventions as determined by BIPs; collect and input data collection for BIPs Support whole group, small group, and 1:1 instruction
  • Work as a contributing member of a team
  • Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Perform all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees the safety of our students
  • Assist in the arrival of and dismissal of students
  • Support the delivery of instruction using district-wide curriculum
  • Support the classroom teacher in classroom management and delivery of instruction
