The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking an engaging educator for a long term leave replacement in sixth grade social studies. (Beginning October 2025).

 

Essential Expectations: The district is seeking candidates who:

  • Have a strong commitment to supporting the academic as well as the social/emotional well-being of students
  • Demonstrate a deep capacity for utilizing research-informed learning strategies, data-driven instructional practices and professional self-reflection to improve student outcomes
  • Possess a thorough understanding of how to use differentiated instruction to actively and meaningfully engage students in learning subject area content and skills –Will dynamically integrate learning technologies and digital resources  
  • Are knowledgeable about evidence-based approaches for improving literacy skills and can actively engage students in the study of world history through authentic/project-based assessments
  • Can collaborate well with the grade level team, Humanities Team, special educators, ENL teachers, guidance staff and administrators to implement curriculum and address student needs
  • Consistently involve and communicate with students and their families to support effective learning Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess the NYSED certification(s) necessary for teaching social studies in grade 6.
MS (7-12) Math Teacher - Leave Replacement

The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a certified 7-12 math leave replacement teacher. Successful candidates should be skilled at using math data to plan for instruction and interventions. A reflective practitioner that has an understanding of implementing Standards of Mathematical Practices for Next-Gen Math Standards in the classroom.

 

The successful candidate must have:

 

  • Knows current discussions in the development of math education.
  • Believes that all students can achieve high levels in math with rigorous instruction and hard work.
  • Believes that educators work with families to support students’ learning.
  • Dedication to continual and active professional learning, department and interdisciplinary collaboration, and building school community partnerships.
  • Understanding of early adolescent development
  • Proven track record of improving math achievement for diverse learners.
