Middle School Teaching Assistant. The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a Teaching Assistant Special Education for our middle school special classes serving students in grades 6-8. The successful candidate must have NYS Teacher Assistant and experience working with students with disabilities. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

 

The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks including:

 

• Engage with colleagues during staff training and learning opportunities
• Provide behavioral interventions as determined by BIPs
• Collect and input data collection for BIPs
• Support whole group, small group, and 1:1 instruction
• Work as a contributing member of a team
• Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques
• Perform all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees the safety of our students
• Assist in the arrival and dismissal of students
• Support the delivery of instruction using district-wide curriculum
• Support the classroom teacher in classroom management and delivery of instruction

 

Job Qualifications

NYS Certification is required at time of application
