The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a qualified and dedicated candidate for an anticipated leave replacement Earth Science teaching position at New Rochelle High School. Familiarity with the new science standards (NYSSLS/NGSS) required.

 

Candidates considered based on their knowledge to do the following:

 

• Demonstrate ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
• Motivate, engage, and challenge students with a wide variety of teaching strategies and use of differentiation tools.
• Conduct and utilize ongoing assessments of student achievement, using both formative and summative assessments
• Utilize technology to create innovative lessons, and use of data collection practices to improve pedagogical practices and student performance.
• Develop and implement the newly adopted New York State Science Standards (NYSSLS/NGSS) in writing lesson plans and authentic tasks.
• Effectively communicate with students, parents/guardians and other school stakeholders to monitor student growth.

Job Qualifications

NYS Certification is required at time of application
