The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a qualified and dedicated candidate for a probationary Biology teaching position at New Rochelle High School. Familiarity with the new science standards (NYSSLS/NGSS) required. Dual certification preferred.
Candidates considered based on their knowledge to do the following:
1. Demonstrate ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
2. Motivate, engage, and challenge students with a wide variety of teaching strategies and use of differentiation tools.
3. Conduct and utilize ongoing assessments of student achievement, using both formative and summative assessments
4. Utilize technology to create innovative lessons, and use of data collection practices to improve pedagogical practices and student performance.
5. Develop and implement the newly adopted New York State Science Standards (NYSSLS/NGSS) in writing lesson plans and authentic tasks.
6. Effectively communicate with students, parents/guardians and other school stakeholders to monitor student growth.
