The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking highly qualified candidates for a middle school science position. This is to fill an immediate full time, tenure track teaching position.

 

Successful candidates will: -

• Demonstrate strong science content knowledge and innovative instructional practices
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the P-12 New York State Science Learning Standards/Next Generation Standards
• Demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Demonstrate an ability to motivate, engage, challenge and instruct students through a wide variety of teaching strategies
• Demonstrate skills to infuse technology into lessons
• Demonstrate an understanding of early adolescent development
• Demonstrate experience using data analysis protocols to help drive instructional planning
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals
• Demonstrate reflective practices and a commitment to professional learning
• Candidates must possess appropriate New York State certification in science grades 7-12 to teach the subject at the middle school level.
• Additional certification in special education grades 7-12 is a strong asset.
