The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher for our 8:1:2 ABA program. The successful candidate must have appropriate NYS Special Education Teacher Certification for grades 6-8 and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilize principles of ABA including reinforcement systems, task analysis, prompting

hierarchies, discrete trial instruction, and data collection.

  • Application of the principles of ABA across all domains, including academic, communication, social and behavioral.
  • Provide individualized instruction to all students and collect data analyzing student progress.
  • Work closely with Behavior Intervention Specialists to design and analyze behavioral and academic data note objectives for each student.
  • Carry out and maintain all instructional aspects of a student's IEP.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate records including progress monitoring data, behavioral documentation, IEP progress reports, and communication logs.
  • Utilize assistive technology, visual supports, sensory supports, and augmentative

communication systems as appropriate for student needs.

  • Collaborate with related service providers and consultants
  • Manage classroom staff including teaching assistant and classroom aide
